Nut Full Industry Chain Supplier

Nuts are commonly used internal threaded mechanical fasteners, typically hexagonal in shape, designed for use with bolts or studs to create a detachable connection. Manufactured from metal or engineering plastics, nuts offer high precision, tensile strength, and vibration resistance. We specialize in producing a wide range of standard and custom nuts for applications across automotive, machinery, construction, energy, electronics, power generation, railways, aerospace, petrochemical, and marine industries.

From Raw Materials to Finished Products

We specialize in manufacturing quality nuts for industrial, construction, and heavy-duty applications.

  • Cold forging & precision forming
  • High-accuracy thread tapping
  • Heat treatment & coating
  • ISO-certified quality control

What Is Nut Manufacturing?

Nut manufacturing is a multi-step process that involves forging metal raw materials (such as wire, bar stock, and hexagonal bars) into complete fasteners (nuts) with internal threads.

Unlike bolt manufacturing, which emphasizes “external thread forming” and “shaft tensile strength,” the core of nut manufacturing lies in the precision forming of internal threads, geometric accuracy (to ensure smooth mating with bolts), and the ability to withstand loads (ensuring the threads do not strip under tensile stress).

Depending on the forming method, nut manufacturing processes are primarily divided into two categories: hot forging (or cold heading) and turning. Among these, cold heading is the most efficient and mainstream method for standard fasteners (such as hex nuts).

Nut Type

Nut Material

  • Carbon Steel Nuts

Strength grades include 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12.

  • Stainless Steel Nuts

Common grades include A2-70, A4-80, 304, 316; corrosion-resistant and high-temperature resistant.

  • Non-Ferrous Metal Nuts

Copper, aluminum, titanium, zinc alloy, etc.; lightweight, non-magnetic, electrically conductive.

  • Nylon / Plastic Nuts

Materials include PA, PP, PVDF, PEEK; insulating, corrosion-resistant, lightweight.

How Are Nuts Manufactured?

Step 1: Prepare Raw Materials

  • Wire rod (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel);
  • Inspection of material and composition.

Step2: Cold Heading or Hot Forging

  • Small and Medium-Sized Nuts: Multi-Station Cold Heading Machine
  • Large-Sized Nuts: High-Temperature Hot Forging (M24 and above)

Step3: Tapping/Forming Internal Threads

  • Cutting Tap
  • Forming Tap

Step4: Heat Treatment (High-Strength Nuts)

  • Quenching + Tempering

Step5: Surface Treatment

  • Electrogalvanizing, Dacromet coating, phosphating, hot-dip galvanizing, nickel plating, black oxide coating, chrome plating.
  • Corrosion resistance, rust prevention, aesthetic appeal.

Step6: Inspection

  • Thread Gauge Inspection
  • Torque Testing
  • Salt Spray Testing
  • Hardness Testing
