How Are Bolts Manufactured?

Step 1: Raw Material Selection

  • Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Titanium, Alloy Steel, Brass, Nickel Alloys.

Step 2: Cold Heading / Hot Forging

This stage forms the basic shape of the bolt.

  • Cold heading is performed at room temperature, which helps preserve the material’s strength and continuous grain structure.

Step 3: Thread Rolling

Step 4: Heat Treatment

For high-strength bolts such as ASTM A325 and A490, heat treatment is essential.

  • Quenching and tempering to improve tensile strength, hardness, and wear resistance.

Step 5: Surface Treatment
